April Hannon, CEO

Hello. I am the Founder and CEO of The HiPo Network and an organizational strategy and human capital advisor with more than 20 years of experience helping complex institutions navigate change and improve how they work.

I partner with leaders to assess organizational structures, operating models, processes, roles, and resources and develop practical solutions that can work within the realities of the institution. My clients have included Harvard University, MIT, The Broad Institute, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, the University of Pennsylvania, and organizations across the technology and social impact sectors.

Much of my work begins with a question that sounds straightforward: How can we make this work better?

Finding the answer is often easier than implementing it. Formal organizational charts and decision-making structures rarely tell the whole story. Successful change requires understanding how decisions are actually made, whose perspectives matter, where there is resistance or competing priorities, and what will be required to move an organization forward.

That is where I spend much of my time. I listen, ask questions, build trust across stakeholder groups, and work across organizational boundaries to create alignment. Sometimes that means serving as an independent advisor to senior leaders; other times it means providing the additional capacity needed to turn an idea or recommendation into a workable process.

My engagements include organizational assessments and design, operating model diagnostics, process redesign, benchmarking and research, strategic implementation, and leadership advisory work. I also bring deep experience in talent strategy, leadership development, workforce planning, executive recruitment, and HR transformation.

The goal is not to design a perfect solution on paper. It is to help organizations develop practical solutions that people can actually implement and sustain.
